Last July 18, 2009, Mataas na Guro Buddy Acenas conducted a presentation on self-defense weapon options at the AFAD gun show at Megamall. The presentation, entitled “Tactical Weapons for Self-Defense”, outlined the advantages and disadvantages of the various types of intentional and improvised weapons that can be used by civilians for self-defense, stressing the need for training to improve the effectiveness of the various defensive options.
He also discussed the fallacy of seeking the "perfect weapon", something that will be 100% effective 100% of the time, guaranteed to work regardless of other factors, and not requiring any training for the user.
